RARE Fine Antique Early California Plein Air Landscape Oil Painting AHLGREN

  

This is a beautiful and Very RARE Fine Antique Old Early California Plein Air Landscape Oil Painting on Canvas, by the seldomly seen early California Impressionist painter, Louise E. This artwork depicts an enchanting and finely rendered landscape scene, in a bucolic wooded area of Southern California. In the distance, a majestic mountain vista of pale blue peaks is visible, along with several brown cows grazing in an idyllic pasture. In the foreground, tall eucalyptus trees, yellow wildflowers, and an old barn and farm equipment can be seen. Miller in the lower right corner.

This painting likely dates to the 1930's - 1940's. Approximately 23 1/4 x 27 1/4 inches including frame. Actual artwork is approximately 20 x 24 inches.

Good condition for nearly a century of age and storage, with mild age-related craquelure and minor speckles of paint loss in a few areas of the painted surface. Additionally, there is moderate scuffing and edge wear to the original period gilded wood frame please see photos carefully. Acquired from an old estate collection in Los Angeles, California.
