Marguerite Bounds Yett Hardeman created and painted 15 very large beautiful murals, now in the Olivas Adobe art collection, San Buenaventura, Ventura, California. These murals depict different moments from the founding of the city of San Buenaventura and its early history, including the Olivas Adobe and Rancho San Miguel. The largest depicts Spanish explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo coming ashore to greet the local Native Americans in 1542. Marguerite also was a member of the Realistic Painters Group in Ojai, Ventura, California and taught at Ventura College in the 1960's. In 1965, Marguerite was chosen the top artist of three California counties at an California art show.Her artwork is featured on the cover of Judy Triem's. Ventura County: Land of Good Fortune.
