A beautiful original Carmel Mission oil on canvas painting by listed artist. The painting is in excellent. With no damage or repairs and was relined at some point in its history. Signed on the lower left and measuring.

X 40 1/2 high with the original gilt frame measuring. X 49 high x 4 1/2 width.

The beautiful frame is excellent. Born in Grand Rapids, MI on July 21, 1893. Jewell was a pupil of Mathias J.

He lived in Grand Rapids prior to moving to California. With his wife Melisse Jewell, he was a resident of San Diego from 1932-38. He died in Illinois in August 1984.
