This unique painting depicts a beautiful river landscape on a large canvas that measures 42 inches in length and 22 inches in height. Staddon, likely signed this original piece in the early 1900s, and it is framed to enhance its realism style. The painting was handmade with oil painting production technique, in the Barbizon School style, that beautifully captures the landscape's details. A search of period paintings with similarities suggest the Thames River.

The item is considered an original and not a licensed reproduction. Although it doesn't come with a certificate of authenticity, the details visible on back of canvas, as well as the ornate frame, place its production during the late 1800s or early 1900s. I happen to have a love of antiques, and I owned a much larger home at the time.
