Antique Original Oil Painting'Northern Express' -Signed Franz Johnston b. An important painting from Canadian Franz Johnston. Only a hint of sky on the top left corner gives further impression of a long voyage at its finish and fine times ahead. Gilt plaque in center with title in the painters own script. On the back of the board is a signature and title in script and acronyms as shown. Set in fantastic original hand-carved wood frame with thick gilding. 21 1/4" X 25 1/2" including frame.
