RARE ANTIQUE FRAMED PIERRE WAIDMANN LANDSCAPE TREE OIL ON CANVAS FINE ART PAINTING. We're not sure the date of this painting but either late 1800's or early 1900's. Dimensions: 36"h x 26.5"w; (overall) 47.5"h x 36.5"w. Condition: Scattered wear and losses to time period frame. The frame is very old and shows cracks, chipping and other damage throughout but still displays nicely.

Pierre Waidmann, born into a wealthy family and sensitive to the arts, moved from his native Lorraine. In the late 1870s to study with Ferdinand Humbert.

Ten years later he was also a pupil of Alfred Roller. In 1890 he took up residence in Paris, at 66 rue de Lisbonne. In the historic 18th-century mansion where he was born. Waidmann created the interior decorations especially marquetry.

In about 1884, he even set up his atelier. He died in 1937 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. At the age of 77. In 2011, the two museums of Remiremont, the Charles de Bruyères Museum and the Charles-Friry Museum, dedicated a retrospective.

Grouping together a hundred of his works, including sixty paintings. In February and March 1896 he had a show at Le Barc de Boutteville. An avant-garde gallery in Paris.
